You’re known for building things better. Why not apply that drive to your career? Lewis University offers certificate options for those who already have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field. These certificates provide advanced knowledge in several specialty areas, helping you widen your skillset, strengthen your credentials, and opening you to new opportunities. If at some point you wish to obtain a full master’s degree, you may switch at any time.

Certificates are offered in the specialty areas below. Each certificate requires a minimum of 18 credit hours (about 6 courses).

Advanced Electronics Certificate

Students who earn the Advanced Electronics Certificate will gain specialized knowledge in digital and analog devices. After completing this post-baccalaureate certificate, students will be able to design, implement, and analyze the performance of complex analog and digital circuits.

Energy and Power Engineering Certificate

Students who earn the Energy and Power Engineering Certificate will gain specialized knowledge in energy and power systems. After completing this post-baccalaureate certificate, students will be able to understand the operation and design of large-scale energy and power systems, as well as gain the skills to maintain, optimize, and analyze the performance of these systems.

Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems Certificate

Students who earn the Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems Certificate will gain specialized knowledge in Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems. After completing this post-baccalaureate certificate, students will be able to design, implement, optimize, and analyze the performance of Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems.

Robotics Certificate

Students who earn the Robotics Certificate will gain specialized knowledge in the design, operation, programming, testing, and performance analysis of robots.

Flexible Courses

Courses are offered in 8-week formats with classes at our main campus in Romeoville. Students have the option to attend courses online. However, since Lewis’ Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering program emphasizes hands-on learning experiences, students may need to come to campus to complete some lab activities or rent/purchase additional materials to complete Hands-On Modules remotely.
